It was an interesting year, that’s for sure. One thing to come out of 2022 is an increase in content in the form of Instagram Reels. As the year moved along, I made a focus of documenting more of my thoughts and posting them as reels. Here are my five favourites and there will be plenty more in 2023!
FINDING THE SPACE WHERE EVERYTHING FEELS RIGHT
I was out for a walk and in a really good headspace when I pulled out my phone to record this reel. It’s a tad windy but documenting it in the moment is important. Things were becoming very aligned. When things are right they feel right. When things are right they come naturally and easily. It doesn’t mean it is without work but it’s important to pay attention to the signs.
SPREADING POSITIVITY IN THE COLD!
This next reel was recorded during a cold snap before Christmas. I believe the temps were below -40 Celsius with the windchill. But, the sun was out and I was in a great mood and wanted to share. There are always things we can complain about. There are always things that don’t go our way but it’s up to us to look for the positives and search for happiness! Look, there were plenty of things not going my way that day.
TOP GUN: MAVERICK
Ok, confession time… I fell in love with Top Gun: Maverick in 2022. That’s not a big confession. A ton of people fell in love with that movie this past year as it became the biggest movie of the year. The real confession? I saw it 10 times in the movie theatre!
This is no joke. And, until this movie, I have never seen another movie in the theatre more than once.
One of the movie posters said that this was the movie that made you fall back in love with the magic of movies. Is it ever. Whether it’s Top Gun or a favourite song, it’s important to find ways to become inspired and open the passion and creativity inside of you. For me in 2022 it was Top Gun: Maverick and I’ll continue to watch it plenty in 2023.
THE 85TH HARDY CUP
A cold November afternoon in Saskatoon. With the snow piled high, I recorded this next reel before calling the championship football game between the Saskatchewan Huskies and the UBC Thunderbirds.
ANTHONY BENNETT
One more football reel to end the 2022 recap. We fell in love with Regina Rams’ defensive end Anthony Bennett of Florida. The kid has so much personality and when he made this play I had to post it. It continues to receive more views every day!
Thanks for following along in 2022. I’m forever grateful for your support. Look for more content though my platforms throughout 2023.
